In the historical building of the Sytin printing house on Pyatnitskaya Street, the exhibition «PROrestoration. Import substitution in restoration materials and technologies» was open. On the opening day, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin visited her. MSU-1 GC participates in the exhibition for the first time. The ceremony was attended by MSU’s First Vice President Andrei Belov, Director of the Reconstruction and Restoration Directorate Anton Rogachyov and Project Director Kirill Bakakin.

The program includes more than 200 events, and specifically lectures, master classes and business sessions. Both experienced and young masters from all over the country and from abroad will meet at the exhibition, including laureates and winners of the Moscow Restoration competition. An important issue on the agenda is import substitution. Participants not only show visitors their skills in restoration up-close, but they also show modern materials developed by our companies.

The professional community of the exhibition consists of restorers who have already left a mark on the development and preservation of the capital's architecture, and the MSU-1 Group of Companies among them. They present technologies that have already been used when returning the historical appearance to the pavilions of VDNKh, as well as in dozens of other projects.

Tatyana Chernyaeva, Chairman of the Russian Association of Restorers, is sure that this exhibition is a unique of its kind: "This is probably not repeated throughout the Russian Federation — not only in restoration, but also in other areas, because everything is interactive here. Restorers here demonstrate precisely their skills in the restoration of certain objects, as well as architectural heritage".

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin personally awarded the winners of the Moscow Restoration competition and noted the importance and scale of restoration in the capital: "In recent years, about 2 thousand objects have been restored; this is just a huge scale. Moreover, each object is a unique cultural monument, to which our restorers put their hands, talent, and heart. Thank you very much, and I congratulate the winners of our competition — I wish you success in your future work".

He also talked with foreign guests from 17 countries — Iran, Italy, China, Cuba, Mexico and African states — who came to get acquainted with the works of Russian masters and share their experience. The representative of the Mali Department of Culture, Mulaye Coulibaly, shared his impressions: “For me, this exhibition is a great pleasure, because I see many types of architecture different from ours. But the architectural experience can be integrated, so it's very interesting to see how things happen in another country”.

As part of the exhibition, the MSU-1 Group of Companies will hold two master classesartistic wood carving on the example of the lost decor of Pavilion No. 67 ‘’Sovietskaya Pechat’ ’’ and the recreation of the sculptural composition of the same pavilion.

The event will be interesting and understandable not only to the restoration community, but to an unprepared visitor too. With the help of numerous exciting lectures, master classes and panel discussions, everyone will be able to immerse himself or herself in the world of restoration and try to find way around in this difficult but noble business.

Everyone can see the results of the jewelry work of restorers and learn from the experience — the exhibition will last until December 3, admission is free by prior registration.
