FSK Group will create a two-level landscaped space as part of The LAKE, a housing development being built in Moscow’s northeast. The lower level will occupy the area adjacent to the buildings, while the upper level will be located on the roof of a one-storey building housing commercial premises.
The concept was designed by UTRO, a Moscow-based bureau with an expertise in improving public spaces.
The idea of the area improvement project is inspired by the location of the housing development. The LAKE is being built on the shore of Kapustinsky Pond. The design is based on the shape of water lilies, plants that can be found reflected in the project’s furniture and decorative lamps. The main entrance to the housing development will be decorated with a landscaped garden featuring a sheared hedge and an installation composed of mirrors. The building’s interior will be designed to a minimalist aesthetic.
An area for children will be located on the second level of the landscaped courtyard. Key features of the usable roof will include a wave-shaped landscape design, acoustic “listening tubes”, and art installations to play with. An amphitheatre will be built closer to the waterline, where visitors will be able to work or read a book.
“The LAKE is a secluded project, and we wanted to emphasise its individuality and create a truly private space for the housing development’s residents. The adjacent area has functional zoning that envisages spaces for privacy, rest, work, children’s games – everything that will make this area a place of power for the residents of The LAKE,” said Pyotr Kirillovsky, Director for Product Development at FSK Group.
The LAKE is a business-class project following the concept of a clubhouse. The housing development is being built by FSK Group on Snezhnaya Street in the Sviblovo District. It is designed to have only 118 flats. The building’s basement floor will house a car park for 63 cars. The project was launched in late 2022 and will be completed in 2025.
