The grand opening of the Talagi airport runway in Arkhangelsk

The opening ceremony of the Talagi airport runway in the city of Arkhangelsk took place. The MSU-1 Group of Companies carried out the reconstruction of the airport complex. Deputy Vice President for Construction of MSU-1 Group Oleg Sukhanov, Chairman of the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region Alexei Alsufiev and General Director of Rostransmodernizatsiya FPI Igor Gurov took part in the opening of the airport. By video link from the Transport of Russia forum, which takes place in Gostiny Dvor in Moscow, the president of the MSU-1 Group of Companies Ilya Zyubin, Deputy Minister of Transport Vasily Desyatkov, Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of Yakutia Vladimir Sivtsev, as well as Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin joined the opening.

The 2.5-kilometer runway has become much stronger and higher than the previous one. During the reconstruction, international standards and strict quality control were kept.

40 thousand tons of concrete passed through the testing laboratory of the general contractor. As Natalya Budaeva, head of the testing laboratory of the MSU-1 Group of Companies, notes: "There was granite crushed stone, sand, cement and plasticizing and air-entraining additives – they’re most welcome."

Kirill Glagolev, director of the MSU-1 GC project, noted that all work at the facility was completed ahead of schedule: "We managed to complete the concrete work in early September. Finally, we finished all the work by mid-November, which is faster than the deadline."

During the ceremony by video link from Moscow, the president of the MSU-1 GC Ilya Zyubin, Deputy Minister of Transport Vasily Desyatkov, Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of Yakutia Vladimir Sivtsev, as well as Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin joined the opening. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the reconstruction deadlines were ahead of schedule and recalled that the work was carried out thanks to the national project launched in 2019 by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin: "Today, the next extremely important aerodrome infrastructure facilities for the regions and the country as a whole are being opened. Their implementation become possible thanks to the national project "Comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of the main infrastructure." These are runways at Chersky Airport in Yakutia and at Talagi International Airport in Arkhangelsk. Large-scale work has been carried out at the facilities. Thanks to the reconstruction, Talagi Airport in Arkhangelsk will also be able to receive medium-haul aircraft without take-off weight restrictions."

Government Chairman of the Arkhangelsk Region Alexei Alsufiev added that next year more aerodrome infrastructure facilities will be erected: "There will be an emergency rescue station, a patrol road, fencing, additional equipment delivered, a training ground." Now we at the stage of certification. Power grids, beacons and weather sensors have already received approval from Rostekhnadzor.

Now it is necessary to wait for the decision of the Federal Air Transport Agency. It will issue a certificate that allows jets to be sent from the new airport runway. The check should begin soon.

In addition to the solemn cutting of the red ribbon at the opening, the signal lights of the runway were specially lit.
