The Minister of Transport of the Altai Territory Anton Voronov checked the progress of construction and reconstruction of the new German Titov airport complex in Barnaul. He noted that all the necessary contracts for equipment supplying of the terminal and internal communications - escalators, boarding bridges, baggage claim area - have already been concluded. Together with the general contractor, the minister discussed technical issues on engineering infrastructure facilities, as well as the stages of further work and implementation schedules.

Now, the builders have completed the construction of concrete structures on the first floor of the new airport. In the summer-autumn period, the boiler room will be reconstructed; access roads and parking lots will be equipped directly on the territory of the new complex. The installation of all structures of the three leveled passenger terminal will be carried out until mid-June, which will allow the start of internal work in the winter. In parallel, builders and specialists are starting to arrange engineering communications.

The project provides for areas of entrance inspection, passenger check-in, baggage handling and receipt on the ground floor; a pre-flight inspection area, a block of office premises and a mother and child room on the second floor. The third floor will include a departure lounge and a superior lounge, as well as commercial and catering areas. With the help of three boarding bridges, landing in aircraft will be carried out.

In front of the airport building, a new traffic scheme will be organized, which provide increased capacity for arriving vehicles. A new short-term parking will also be erected — the existing parking will be used for long-term parking.

Upon completion of reconstruction and construction, the total area of the new three-story airport complex will be twice as large and will amount to about 10 thousand m2. Thanks to the increased area, the capacity will increase significantly: the new airport will be able to receive at least a million passengers a year. The commissioning of the new airport complex named after German Titov is planned in the second half of 2025.
