MSU-1 GC continues building a bridge over the Pekhorka River in Moscow. The project is now 85% complete, according to Rifat Alimov, the site manager: “We plan to complete the asphalt concrete topping by the end of July. We are six months ahead of the construction project deadline. The bridge will be the final section of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter reaching the M12 Federal Highway and connecting the M11 and M12 Federal Highways. The section is scheduled for opening to traffic on 9 September 2023.

According to Rafik Zagrutdinov, Head of the Moscow City Construction Department, the 300-plus m long bridge will have six traffic lanes: “The bridge is 360 m long with six lanes – three in each direction. The project is now on the fencing and paving stage. Plans also include installing noise barriers measuring about 420 m in total. We expect to complete the construction in September. In general, if we talk about the northern part of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter, which measures 40 km in a straight line, it is a very complex project – it includes 80 artificial structures.

He added that the bridge belongs to the northbound section of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter, and in the future, it will connect the Diameter with the Moscow–Nizhny Novgorod–Kazan Highway.
