MSU-1 GC is set to refurbish the airport in Yoshkar-Ola. The project envisages a refurbishment of the taxiways as well as the construction of a new control tower, parking stands, an area for aircraft de-icing/anti-icing operations, water drainage network facilities, surface runoff treatment facilities, and other infrastructure.
Yuri Zaitsev, Head of the Republic of Mari El, noted that the refurbished runway will enable medium- and long-haul aircraft with a capacity of 80–200 passengers to arrive to the airport, attracting larger airlines and growing the number of flights at affordable prices.
The refurbishment is scheduled for completion in November 2027.
