Sergei Sobyanin visited the construction site of the overpass over the Oktyabrskaya Railway tracks (the future MCD-3) near Petrovsko-Razumovskaya Metro Station. According to the Mayor, the refurbishment does not affect the Dmitrovskoye Highway and does not hinder traffic.

The old overpass, built back in 1965, has already reached the end of its service life, which was why in 2020, the decision was made to refurbish it. The main challenge was to keep traffic flowing on the Dmitrovskoye Highway during the project. To this end, a temporary structure was built first, and the main one is now under construction. Alexey Kozlov, First Vice President of MSU-1 GC, the contracting company, assured the Mayor that all works will be finished on time.

According to the Moscow Mayor and Government Press Service, in addition to building the 312-m overpass, the project also involves building and repairing 2 km of roads. The refurbishment will cover four lanes for traffic in each direction, the adjacent road infrastructure, and several slip roads.

To protect local residents from car noise, a 102-m noise barrier will be installed along the overpass. To date, the project is over 55% complete.

Experts estimate that the new overpass will help reduce travel time by six minutes and also improve the traffic situation in general in several nearby neighbourhoods, encompassing a population of about 420,000 residents.

Since 2011, a total of 21 overpasses over railroad tracks have been built and refurbished, financed from the city budget. At the moment, there are 17 such projects at the design, refurbishment, or construction stages.
