According to the Moscow Region Governor and Government Press Service reporting on Monday, a childcare centre for 400 children has been opened ahead of schedule in Gusarskaya Ballada, a housing development in the Odintsovsky District that has been subject to delays.

In Gusarskaya Ballada, we first dealt with the defrauded buyers, now we are focusing on the social infrastructure. The childcare centre opened ahead of schedule; kids arrived there today. Another project is a school for 2,200 students, where construction is in full swing; it will be ready by 1 September. The next social infrastructure facility on the list is a polyclinic,” said Andrey Vorobyov, Governor of the Moscow Region, cited by the press service.

The newly opened childcare centre for 400 children was built within the housing development as part of the Demography national project, financed from federal, regional, and municipal budgets. The construction was completed almost half a year ahead of schedule.

The centre is located next to the school under construction, and together they will form a single education complex. The new childcare centre is expected to shorten the waiting list for preschool education institutions in the neighbourhood.

The housing development’s new investor is planning to have another childcare centre, for 110 children, by year-end. The contractor has already launched construction.

As promised, the childcare centre was completed ahead of schedule, and now we are building one of the largest schools in the Moscow Region – with capacity for 2,200 students. At the moment, we have 326 people on the construction site working on internal utilities, façades, and finishing,” said Ilya Demidov, Deputy CEO of MSU-1 GC, the contracting company.

The Gusarskaya Ballada housing development in the Odintsovsky District has about 25,000 residents. In September 2014, construction was frozen due to funding issues, with the contractor failing to deliver some houses on time. The Moscow Region Government found a new investor, and two years later, construction resumed: in 2016, OOO Osenny Kvartal, the new developer, commissioned two buildings, and in 2018 – two more, completing all the planned 29 tower blocks.
