The Sydney City housing development, an FSK Group project under construction in Moscow’s Khoroshevo-Mnevniki District, received international recognition at the Urban Design & Architecture Design Awards, being named the winner of the Architecture Technology (Built) category. A gold medal was awarded to the buildings in the development’s central quarter, designed by Genpro. The design included buildings of varying height with vibrant façades made of aluminium panels that underscore their fluidity.
“The pattern is based on a stretched orthogonal grid. This solution was implemented with the help of the parametric software Grasshopper, which creates complex architectural shapes and transforms their geometry using digital design tools. The idea will become a reality thanks to unique shop-assembled unitised façades. Pre-assembled façade elements will be delivered to the construction site to speed up installation,” said Andy Snow, the project’s architect.
“At the same time, the buildings making up the central quarter fit seamlessly into the overall architectural style of the housing development, emphasising its concept as well as vibrant and modern style. The concept is based on the philosophy of well-being and aims to create a place of power for the future residents of the development along the embankment,” said Pyotr Kirillovsky, Director for Product Development at FSK Group.
The Urban Design & Architecture Design Awards (UDAD Awards) are one of the world’s most prestigious awards for architecture and design. Established in 2016, they recognise outstanding ideas that redefine architectural design by introducing modern technologies, materials, software, aesthetics, and space layout.
The Sydney City housing development is a business-class project being built by FSK Group on a 20-ha plot in Moscow, along Shelepikhinskaya Embankment. The project’s concept is built to comprehensively promote the philosophy of well-being. The construction of the housing development started in 2020 and will be completed in 2028.
